Preparations Underway for CENGN Summit 2018
Published: June 25th, 2018
As Summer continues to fly by, us folks at CENGN are already gearing up for what will be another next generation networking fueled CENGN Summit!
A lot has changed in Canada’s technology ecosystem over the past year and we’ve seen some healthy signs ranging from new investments to emerging technologies. Next generation networks are propelling our economy forward in a number of ways. A faster, secure, and more cost-effective infrastructure is enabling technological advances in the services we use everyday. The CENGN Summit is where we celebrate these achievements and also discuss the challenges and opportunities to draw solutions in the networking sector.
CENGN has gained a lot of momentum over the past year from new developments. Most notably, the Next Generation Network Program (NGNP) which is a Government of Ontario $63 million program offered through a partnership between CENGN and the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE). The NGNP will connect CENGN’s digital infrastructure to innovation hubs across Ontario, allowing SMEs, start-ups and researchers unprecedented access to a state-of-the-art, multi-vendor, open-platform testbed and services to validate innovative products and solutions.
Providing an ultra-high speed and secure infrastructure for Canadian businesses will enable future products and services to be developed in areas like smart agriculture and mining, cybersecurity, SDN & NFV, and many more. Through this program and in conjunction with the NCE’s CECR program, CENGN is expanding its services across the country and is ready to continue to help Canadian businesses validate their technology. This large scale transformation will require efforts from many different levels and horizons of leaders and organizations. We host the CENGN Summit to provide a common table for this discussion.
Each stakeholder of the community brings a different perspective to the challenge of solving problems in the digital economy. We’re excited to bring together all participants such as leaders from multinationals, growing Canadian businesses, academia, and government officials to discuss ways we can keep pushing Canada’s ICT sector forward. Each stakeholder brings a fresh perspective to the discussion whether their focus is on research, advancing your business, government influence, or you’re a student looking to get a taste of what the Information and Communications Technology sector is all about.
Our 3rd annual CENGN Summit will take place on November 27th at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata, Ontario. We’re looking to build off the success of the past two years and bring together those striving to make a difference and strengthen Canada’s global impact in the technology sector. We look forward to seeing you there!
